Card Management in Collaboration with School Photographers

The Almere School Group (ASG) selected CardsOnline as a centralized solution for producing and managing cards at its seven locations. ASG uses the CardsOnline SaaS platform to produce multifunctional MIFARE Classic ID cards for identification, access control, payments, and lockers.

A notable aspect of this implementation is the collaboration with three professional school photographers: Foto Koch, Schoolfoto.nl, and Vanderberg Fotografie. Each photographer takes photos of the students and securely uploads them to CardsOnline via SFTP, following ASG’s specifications. They are also authorized to print ID cards directly through CardsOnline using the Card Print Manager (CPM), which provides a seamless workflow from photo to finished card.

CardsOnline connects with the Somtoday source system to import student data and automates the assignment of card layouts. This links each card to facility systems, including XAFAX Netpay, Salto access control, and Vecos Releezme lockers. This integration ensures that every card is immediately usable upon issuance.

ASG uses the CardsOnline Service Portal, which allows employees and students to securely log in via Single Sign-On (SSO) using ADFS. Through the portal, users can manage their card details, update their photos, and block lost cards, reducing the administrative workload and enhancing the end-user experience.

This collaborative approach makes CardsOnline a powerful and flexible solution for managing cards across a large educational network.
